# 2018 Washington DC Trip - Apply by Wednesday, March 7!

March 01, 2018

The Harvard GSAS Science Policy Group and DMS Policy Path are organizing a trip to Washington, DC from Monday, April 23 to Thursday, April 26, 2018. We will visit government agencies, non-profit organizations, think tanks, and media outlets that are involved in making, implementing, influencing, and communicating science policy. The goal of this trip is to help participants explore career paths in policy and government by introducing them to scientists and policymakers working on science policy and beyond. Most of the expenses for the trip will be covered. We will cover transportation (flight and Metro) and group accommodations for three nights. You will be responsible for your food/drinks and all other personal expenses.

We will fly to DC on Monday evening (4/23) and return to Boston on Thursday evening (4/26).

Here's what we require of you in exchange for this opportunity:

 1) You MUST be a GSAS PhD student to apply.
2\) You're interested in science policy.
3\) You will participate in the entire trip. If you do not comply, we will fine you to cover the cost of the trip.
4\) You will participate actively during every meeting, and you will write a report on at least one of these visits.

Apply now – space is limited! The application will close Wednesday, March 7 at 11:59 pm. If you are selected to participate, you will be notified by Monday, March 12.

This trip is funded by DMS Policy Path and GSAS GSC.
