The Harvard GSAS Science Policy Group and DMS Policy Path organizes an annual trip to Washington DC to visit multiple government agencies, non-profit organizations, and think tanks that are involved in making, implementing and influencing science policy. The goals of this trip are to learn how scientists and policymakers tackle science policy issues and to explore career paths for scientists in policy and government. This trip has become an annual event for the SPG and was very highly reviewed by participants.

Participants should be interested in science policy. You are expected to actively participate during the visits, and will be expected to write a visit report for one of the agencies/organizations. Full participation is expected and non-compliance would lead to loss of reimbursement and a fine to cover the remaining costs of the trip. Applications for the trip are typically available in Feburary and the trip usually takes place in April. Stay tuned for more updates in the future!
